# Artist Tiers

Music on the Block operates the Artist Tiers system to encourage users (Artists) to be more active and to recognize their creative contributions.\
This tier is automatically determined based on the total accumulated plays of all songs created by the user (Artist) and is used across various areas of the platform.

### 1. Tier Criteria & Titles

Artist tiers are automatically assigned according to the accumulated play count.

|    Trainee   |      0 \~ 999 plays      |
| Indie Artist |   1,000 \~ 9,999 plays   |
|  Rising Star |  10,000 \~ 99,999 plays  |
| Major Artist | 100,000 \~ 999,999 plays |
|    Legend    |  1,000,000 plays or more |

### 2. Usage & Features of Tiers

* **Calculation Method:**\
  The system automatically assigns tiers based on the total accumulated plays of all songs created by the user (Artist).
* **Applications:**
  * **My Page & Profile:** The tier is displayed on the user (Artist) profile to highlight their reputation.
  * **User (Artist) Classification:** Content from users (Artists) above a certain tier can be easily distinguished.
  * **Exposure Weighting:** Search and recommendation features may apply exposure weighting based on tier level.

The Artist Tiers system serves not only as a mark of recognition but also as an important indicator that visually represents the creative performance of users (Artists) within the platform.
